Status message:
I enter all books I place in my inventory by ISBN#.

I typically go to the post office twice a week, so I usually ship within 3-4 days of receiving a request, though occasionally, if there's a holiday it may take longer, or if your request is received less than 24 hours before my next visit to the Post Office, it might not be sent until the following visit, especially if it's a larger book requiring packaging that I don't have on hand. I ship by Media Mail or First Class (whichever is cheaper) using new bubble envelopes whenever possible, though I sometimes recycle boxes for larger books or mass mooches, or wrap a book in bubblewrap, then enclose it in an manila envelope if I'm short of packaging material. However, I do package books with the same care that I hope people will use in mailing my mooches to me. Unless I'm unable to ship a book within the above time-frame, I don't send "Delay" notices.

Ours is a non-smoking household.

Whenever someone mooches from me I always take a look at their inventory to see whether they have something listed that would be of interest, too!

Bio:
Our family is in the process of down-sizing our personal library, so our books range from light beach reading to serious business tomes to classics to scholarly works to children's books. People we know often give us books as presents, since they are familiar with our love of reading, but their choices are not always to our tastes, or are all-too-frequently duplicates of things we already have, so a significant number of the books on my inventory list have never been read. Most that have been read, however, even the children's books, are in nearly new condition, inasmuch as once past toddlerhood, our children have learned to share our own love and respect for books.

If a book has any defects that I have noticed (and I try to examine books fairly carefully before listing them) I will record those in the condition notes.
