Erin Hunt (USA: UT) (2015/08/18): The Butterfly Sister was a nice, easy summer read that only took me a couple days to finish. The beginning was a bit rushed, but the author was able to pace out the rest of the book nicely. Some of the twists were predictable and a little far-fetched at times, but the story was wrapped up well, and overall I enjoyed this author's debut novel. The only thing that I found a bit annoying was the frequent mention of female authors and poets I didn't recognize. Sylvia Plath, author of The Bell Jar, was the only one whose name stirred some recognition. Overall, Hansen did a good job of explaining each of these authors' and their stories, and why they were referenced throughout her book and plot, but I just found it tiring after a while.
