Loved it! Very interesting, intriguing book. The beginning is a little slow as you learn the family's Greek history, but picks up and then you don't want it to end.

Absolutely loved this book. I haven't been this involved in a set of characters since I can't remember when. This is one of those books that saddens you to finish the last page.

This book was disturbing to me at first, and at the same time not too intriguing since the history is far removed from my origins. But I stuck with it because any book with historic facts and good writing needs a chance. I really developed compassion for the main character, and could not put it down as it progressed. I will look for others by this author

Wild and far-reaching in narrative scope with authoritative voice and pace, this is both a Greek-American family epic and the story of Cal, the "middlesex" of the title. I loved this book, it's rollicking and big and bold and great fun too.
