Harrington (USA: OH) (2008/07/04): An interesting point of view, the story is told as if a message, perhaps a long letter or a journal entry, addressed to one of the book's central characters. There are enticing flash forward tidbits, flashbacks, and a large dose of Isaac Newton's years at Cambridge. Not at all confusing. If this were a painting I would say "fascinating brushwork" for how these pieces and movements through time construct the experience of the novel. I'd call it a mystery rather than thriller.
