Kellie (USA: NC) (2007/06/02): I found this book to be frustrating and sad. At first, I thought the unnamed main character was your typical yuppie who is caught up in Manhattans fast paced, drug induced night life because that is what young, unattached adults do. But then you find out his wife has just left him. Thats bad enough. And then you find out his mother died within the past year. The drug induced night life made more sense. It was his way of coping with his loses. I thought the writing was clever. Maybe too clever. Some readers found humor in it. There were some witty parts. Tads mission in life is to have more fun than anyone else in New York City, and this involves a lot of moving around, since there is always the likelihood that where you arent is more fun than where you are. I wouldnt classify this book as funny however. I think the writer found an interesting way of describing how a young guy, living in a fast paced world of the 80s, is dealing with loss and loneliness.
