Reviews: Annie the Superfast Reader (USA: NY) (2006/10/09):
This is the second book in Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series, and a must read if you liked the first one. The court at Versailles in only one of the great historical events against which Jamie and Claire's love story unfolds, and Gabaldon raises the stakes and deepens the romance considerably.

Nina (USA: TX) (2009/02/04):
I don't read romances - but this is a superior series. You really get to know and love the characters. Even the length of these books is not prohibitive. Love it!

Heather (USA: WV) (2009/03/03):
I just finished this book and I have to say it doesn't disappoint. Diana Gabaldon takes us back to the love story of Jamie Frasier and Claire Beauchamp Randall Frasier. It is now 1968 and Claire has returned to Scotland with her 20 yr. old daughter Brianna looking for information. The book takes us on a journey through 1744-45 with Claire and Jamie and how Claire returned to modern time 1948. I will not write more for fear of ruining the twists and surprises in store for the next reader. I look forward to beginning the third installment of the Outlander Series, "Voyager".

Jonesy (Canada) (2009/05/23):
I only posted a copy of this book in my inventory because it was an 'extra' copy! I am hooked on the Outlander series, they are very compelling. Gorgeous descriptions, heart-pounding scenes of war & intrigue, a gripping tale of undying passion, with ferocious sex scenes!

Octoberwoman (USA: OK) (2021/04/24):
an I say about this book that hasn't already been said, many times and probably much for eloquently than I am capable of? I'm rereading the entire series, so this was my third time to read this one, and I have loved it more with each read. Chapter 46 made me cry, literally cry. I knew what was coming, I'd been reading quicker and quicker in breathless anticipation of what was coming, and I sat on my couch with tears running down my face as I read. That never happens, ever.

I think I need a short break now before going on to the next book. I need to read some books that I won't be as emotionally invested in.
