Nancy Hendrix (USA: FL) (2009/09/10): I like Michael Palmer better each time I read another of his books. This is complex and exciting. I put everything else aside in order to read it. Couldn't put it down. I have had a few doctors who are as committed to their patients as the main characters in Palmer's books, and it is good to see them portrayed in fiction. It's an act of his genius that Palmer can create passionately caring, hard-working physicians who become targets of a non-caring, profit-seeking system. What is rewarding is that they fight back, refusing to be passive victims. They fight for themselves and those they have promised to serve.
