Victoria (USA) (2008/03/15): I like the book, but i found the middle a little boring. It is a great book to drink hot chocolate while reading.
Rachel (USA: IA) (2009/07/08): The Thirteenth Tale is definitely one of my new favorites. The characters were interesting and the storyline had some excellent twists and surprises. I would strongly recommend it!
Joannewh (United Kingdom) (2009/10/11): Loved this book, the twist at the end is real surprise. It is very rare that when I finish a book I sit in a daze thinking "well I never expected that." Can't recommend it enough!
Bo (USA: GA) (2010/04/07): An English suspense novel that is written so very beautifully. A story with twists, with vivid descriptions with the most endearing characters that I will actually miss them in my daily routine. I highly recommend this novel and I would be so pleased for another of Setterfield's story telling adventures. The Thirteenth Tale has become a keeper! I also recommend the audio as well...lovely dialect. For those of us that have a love affair with our books.you will relate
Elizabeth (USA: MD) (2010/04/28): Diane Setterfield's language is exquisite in this book. I have never read anything as beautifully written as this novel even in the thousands of books I have to pull out of my repertoire. This story is also the only original I have ever read - you would NEVER expect what happens in the twists of these books. And yet this novel is so much more than a mystery novel...I have no words to describe the level of mastery Setterfield displays in this novel. By far my favourite book I have ever read.
Sarahb (USA: GA) (2010/08/13): I loved this book! There were passages I read over and over for the rich, beautiful language. Very well written. A book lover's book and a great story.
AZLori (USA: AZ) (2011/02/13): "Hauntingly beautiful" is the phrase heard more often...but this book is beautifully haunting. A must read by all mystery lovers.
