daunhauer (USA: CO) (2008/07/20): I liked this autobiography. Steve Martin is a good storyteller with some surprising insights and humbleness. Hank (USA: VA) (2009/03/03): I greatly enjoy stand-up comedy but have not taken a serious venue of actively attending stand-up comedy routines/shows. I know Steve Martin from SNL and the movie ‘The Jerk’. I was in secondary education during Steve’s peak in stand-up comedy and being from Boise as stated in the book I missed the fact he was funny. You see I call him by his first name because after reading ‘Born Standing Up’ it’s like I know him, but in reality I don’t. Reading this book put into perspective most peoples lives of struggling to become their best and burning out creating the need for change.
