cocoGerman (USA: TX) (2015/06/27): I received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.Let me start off by saying, once I started this book, I could not put it down. It is a VERY light read but a fun one that is perfect for just laying around and enjoying the time. The story starts off with a bang, which I can appreciate, so you know what you are dealing with right from the beginning. As the story moves along, all the context that you need is smoothly added into the story. The two secrets that are revealed in this book are interesting although not much was made of Dan's secret. Grace is GREAT! I have not read any of the other Chesapeake Diaries books, which is on purpose, because I wanted to see if you could just pick this one up and start reading. You can. It was a little hard for me to determine the timeline to say if the pace of the events seemed reasonable, but I still like how everything flowed. Dan was great and I loved how Jamie handled everything. All in all, very nice read and I am glad that I was able to mark this as a "read" book.
