Marianne (Australia) (2011/08/19): Keeping Luke’s Secret is the 115th romance novel by Carol Mortimer. Historian Leonie Winston has written her grandfather, Leo’s biography, and is then asked by aging actress Rachel Richmond to do the same for her. Leonie is uncertain about doing this, and more so when Rachel’s son Luke makes his feelings about the idea known. Rachel convinces her to take it on, but Luke is determined she will not learn his secret. When she eventually guesses it, it is much more of a shock than she expected. Despite Luke’s behaviour towards Leonie, she’s attracted to him, and, when he kisses her, she realises the attraction goes both ways. The plot’s a bit thin on this one and, despite the number of times Mortimer uses it, I am pretty sure that the word “frowningly” is not actually part of the English language.
